This one’s hot! Its been said that Apple is working on a television which is powered by iOS, in other words, its like an Apple TV built right into a television set’s intestines carrying an Apple brand.

The news come to us through DailyTech who are reporting that we will see this television some time in Fall. The news was confirmed by an ex Apple executive and this is how he described the whole deal:

you’ll go into an Apple retail store and be able to walk out with a TV. It’s perfect.

We’re not sure about any sort of details about the TV itself, but here’s our take on it; we believe that the TV will have Apple TV built right in with the same or maybe more added functionality. This is somewhat a smart move by Apple to take on its immediate competitors such as Netflix. Already at the moment, Apple is going big with iTunes, movie rentals, music videos, podcasts etc. A leap onto selling an Apple branded TV is a slick move. First of all, you can say goodbye to hooking up an Apple TV to your TV for streaming content. Secondly, we’re sure Apple will integrate the TV’s features with current iOS devices supporting AirPlay, AirPlay mirroring etc.

9to5Mac points out that the rumor about Apple working on its very own branded TV has been roaming around for years! And once again it has been revived courtesy DailyTech. Its been said that Apple will of course not manufacture the TV completely on its own, rather seek help from its sole suppliers such as Samsung.

Fall is the same time period when iOS 5 is expected to get into consumer’s hands alongside with the iPhone 5. Apart from the iPhone 5 and iOS 5, we’re also expecting a refresh to the iPod lineup, something which Apple usually do in this time frame. Lets just grab a soda, hang tight and see for ourselves what Apple has in for us.
