Apple’s Possible Covert Testing of Undisclosed Device For iOS 4.1
Under the garb of testing its next iteration of iOS 4.1, Apple possibly is undertaking testing of an undisclosed product along with the expected future iPod touch and iPad. This may be a new 7-inch iPad, an Apple TV or a completely new product? What it could be?

According to AppleInsider Apple’s iOS 4.1 beta contains references to several unreleased iOS devices, including “iPod4,1″, “iProd2,1″, and a curious “unknownHardware” entry. According to people who are familiar with the matter, the latest beta of iOS 4.1, due to ship in the coming weeks, includes three new “Configuration Descriptors” within its USB configuration files — all of which pertain to devices that list “Apple, Inc.” as their “manufacturer” — as can be seen in the screenshot below:

Unknown – Add device descriptor info for this device.
Being just speculative at this time, it’s possible that this unknown device may relate to an Apple TV that was dubbed as iTV, that will reportedly discard the existing Mac OS X-based software platform for one built around iOS 4.0 and capable of running applications found on the App Store. But no one at this stage, can speculate with any amount of certainty what that unknown Apple’s device is. What do you think about it? [Via 9to5Mac]
