An interesting thing here about BestBuy is that they are not giving any sort of date to its customers whether when will new MacBook Airs will come into stock, which only means one thing, new MacBook Airs with upgraded hardware are on their way instead. As noted by 9to5Mac:

The retail outlet’s online component recently has placed all four of the current MacBook Air models on not available for shipping. This typically means that supplies are so constrained that they have to focus their remaining inventory on their popular physical retail stores. BestBuy.com does not provide a date for when they will be shipping the notebooks again, but these types of things are usually indicative of a product refresh.

Amazingly, its not just BestBuy who are low on stock, Amazon is taking a supply shortage hit too. It will be a matter of time when the stocks over at Amazon completely dry out, by the time you read this, maybe you won’t be able to buy a new MacBook Air from either of the stores in the US, UK or pretty much anywhere.

The new MacBook Air is said to be an internal hardware upgrade over the current generation MacBook Air, it will finally end its regime of the obsolete Core 2 Duo processor and finally inherit the new speedy Intel Sandy Bridge second generation Core processor. Apart from that, the new MacBook Air is said to come with the new Thunderbolt I/O port which originally made its debut on the new MacBook Pro and iMac earlier this year. We are also expecting Apple to lower the price of the MacBook Air down to $899, why? Why not put in some serious competition in the PC market? That would be awesome if Apple does so!

According to 9to5Mac, they are expecting the new MacBook Air to hit the shelves during US’s independence day week, which is 4th of July. Whenever it might come out, we will keep you updated!
