There have been a lot of speculation going around these days regarding Apple working to push out a cheaper iPhone 4 along with the iPhone 5 some time in September.

According to a new report which has just surfaced, the cheaper iPhone 4 would just be an iPhone 4, but will be available in a memory configuration of just 8GB. Currently, the iPhone 4 can be bought in two different flavors; the 16GB model and the 32GB model. If this report is to be followed, then there is a high probability that Apple might simply axe the iPhone 4 along with the launch of the iPhone 5, and introduce the 8GB iPhone 4 at a much lower cost.

For some reason, we don’t seem to find that much weight in the report, but we agree to the part that the cheaper iPhone would simply be a cheaper iPhone 4. if you’re still not convinced, take a look at the iPhone 3GS, the price was significantly slashed down after the launch of the iPhone 4. Therefore there is a high probability that along with the iPhone 5, a cheaper iPhone 4 would make perfect sense, but with a memory of just 8GB? We’re somewhat skeptical on that part.
