CyanogenMod Founder Lands Job At Samsung Mobile
What do you do when you have eyes on a person who can do your company some serious good? Well, you hire him!

The exact same thing happened to the founder of CyanogenMod, namely; Steve Kondik. Samsung Mobile finally made the move and offered the man a job at Samsung, in their Android division of course.
CyanogenMod is a custom ROM tailored for numerous Android devices out there which is basically a custom stock version of Android with a few tweaks here and there, which increases the overall functionality of the OS itself.
Lets get to the good part and speculate what the future of Samsung Mobile holds! In our opinion, this is a very smart move which Samsung made. And in my utmost honesty, the version of Android which ships on Android powered Samsung handsets is quite bloated, with that TouchWiz launcher and all. Steve Kondik is the kind of man which can bring things much more closer to simplicity and also deliver a far better user experience, in terms of performance and feature set.
This is what Steve had to say to AndroidGuys regarding his employment at Samsung:
…it’s a job and I’m glad that I can use what I learned from all this to do something cool in the real world
I’ll still be doing code review and some leadership for CM, but I’ll be keeping it legit like always…I think we really broke away from the modding community. Most of us are professional engineers or in the field some way or another.
You heard the man, the development on CyanogenMod will continue as usual, and Steve will also continue working in Samsung, after all, he does need to make a living out of working on the thing he loves to do, and we’re quite happy for him!
