Download Apple TV 2G 4.3 Firmware IPSW Now [Direct Download Link]
Apple has pushed out a new update for its 2nd generation Apple TV, and is dubbed as update 4.3 (8F455), and is now available for download.
The download however can be obtained through iTunes or you can download the IPSW file from the link given at the end and you can restore your Apple TV 2G with iTunes later on, if you’re a pro user that is.
The said update brings a few changes to Apple TV 2G, first of all you can now stream all your previously purchased TV shows. Secondly, if you’ve bought TV shows in the past, you now have complete access to them right on your Apple TV 2G, no more fuss.
Apart from this, expect the usual bug fixes, that’s all. It fixes audio and video related bugs in which some content wasn’t able to stream the audio but the video was visible and vice versa.
Now here comes the fun part in the update, now you can stream content from Vimeo directly to your Apple TV 2G from the comfort of your couch! Yes you read that right! Prior to this update, it wasn’t possible! But thankfully in update 4.3, which is the current one, it is.
Vimeo is a service just like YouTube on which users can upload and share videos with others, but sadly the service didn’t take off like YouTube, but people still use it quite often for uploading videos.
Simply connect your Apple TV 2G to your PC or Mac, fire up iTunes and hit the Update button. Otherwise if you feel like “saving” the IPSW for later use, then simply hit this link.
