Microsoft Office 2010 went live back in 2010, October, and is the successor of the ever famous Office 2010. It has a bunch of new features and tweaks over the previous offerings of Office. Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. have all been partially revamped. Thankfully all those features have been improved in a wide variety of ways thanks to Service Pack 1. The changes which are noticeable after installing Service Pack 1 for Office 2010 are as follows:

    • Outlook fixes an issue where “Snooze Time” would not reset between appointments.
    • The default behavior for PowerPoint “Use Presenter View” option changed to display the slide show on the secondary monitor.
    • Integrated community content in the Access Application Part Gallery.
    • Better alignment between Project Server and SharePoint Server browser support.
    • Improved backup / restore functionality for SharePoint Server
    • The Word Web Application extends printing support to “Edit Mode.”
    • Project Professional now synchronizes scheduled tasks with SharePoint task lists.
    • Internet Explorer 9 “Native” support for Office Web Applications and SharePoint
    • Office Web Applications Support for Chrome
    • Inserting Charts into Excel Workbooks using Excel Web Application
    • Support for searching PPSX files in Search Server
    • Visio Fixes scaling issues and arrowhead rendering errors with SVG export
    • Proofing Tools improve spelling suggestions in Canadian English, French, Swedish and European Portuguese.
    • Outlook Web Application Attachment Preview (with Exchange Online only)

Service Packs contains all the fixes and updates which you normally receive through Windows Update from time to time, except that they are rolled into one package, saving you time and the trouble to install every fix individually. Apart from fixes, Service Packs also address performance issues if you’ve been facing at any point. If you’re running Office 2010 then its highly recommended that you install Service Pack 1 now to get the latest updates in one go. Keep in mind that Service Pack 1 for Office 2010 is for Windows users only. Download links below:
