Facebook Announces Skype-powered Video Chat! Here’s How You Can Use It Instantly
Facebook today has announced the latest addition to their ever growing number of features available to its users on their giant social networking platform: Skype powered video calls! Sounds exciting? Here’s how you can use it if you feel a bit video-ish.

Moments back, the only ways to interact with people which are added to your Facebook profile were either by writing on their Wall, sending them messages and the more real time approach was by using Facebook’s integrated chat feature. But now, Facebook is taking a leap forward and has introduced video calling built right into Facebook itself, and is powered by Skype. The great thing about video chat is that its integrated right into the textual chat system that you see in the bottom of the page, therefore you feel right at home! All that needs downloading on your part is a small Skype plugin that’s all, which you’ll be guided through by Facebook itself! From the official Facebook blog:
Bring Your Conversations to Life
Video chat has been around for years now, but it’s still not an everyday activity for most people. Sometimes it’s too difficult to set up, or the friends you want to talk to are on different services.
So a few months ago, we started working with Skype to bring video calling to Facebook. We built it right into chat, so all your conversations start from the same place. To call your friend, just click the video call button at the top of your chat window.
So, what are you waiting for? Head over to this link and start Skyping with your Facebook friends instantly! Its very easy to set up, and we’re really surprised at that. Facebook never fails to impress, but yeah, their keynotes are boring.
