The famous member of the iPhone Dev Team, namely MuscleNerd, got his profile suspended today on Google+ due to a very, well, somewhat weird reason as we would put it.

iPhoneDevTeam

The reason for suspending the profile is due to lack of provision of a “real” name, we all know that MuscleNerd is not the guy’s real name but that’s the name through which he goes by in the jailbreaking community. Google for this reason, suspended his profile on Google’s social network Google+.

Its funny to note that Google+ is probably the only social network on the planet on which you can’t use your nickname or a fake name unlike Facebook, MySpace, Orkut etc. It’s a somewhat good thing but a very strange one at the same time since many people around the world are known by their nicknames more, such an comex, who is also a famous iOS hacker and developer.

Jay Freeman (aka Saurik), the creator of Cydia jot down a very good write-up explaining the fiasco that is happening with different people lately, an excerpt of it is as follows:

In the last couple days, Google has taken to quite actively enforcing its “real name” rule, banning or suspending accounts (with many reports of users getting locked out of all of Google, as opposed to just +) with names that “look funny” (such as including symbols, “including period”), as well as actively suspending accounts of users who use non-real names.

That settles it then, if you have a “funny” or a “strange” looking name, then its highly likely that Google will take action against you and bust your nuts for it. So we’re warning you beforehand, before you do anything funny on Google+, think twice, Google has an eye on you.
