Limera1n was released moments ago which is an untethered jailbreak and pwns the iPhone 4/3GS, iPod touch 3G/4G and the iPad running iOS 4.1 for life. Here’s a complete guide to jailbreak the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.1.

Keep in mind that Limera1n is a jailbreaking tool and does not unlock your iPhone, therefore if you’re dependant on a carrier unlock for now then please do not update to iOS 4.1 as it upgrades the phone’s baseband as well.

Step 1: You will need Limera1n, which you can get from this link.

Step 2: Plug your iPhone 3GS/4 to your PC via USB, run Limera1n and hit the “make it ra1n” button as shown below:

Step 3: Follow the steps below in the order as they are:

1. After pressing the “make it ra1n” button, your device will enter recovery mode:

2. Now press the “Home” and “Power” buttons simultaneously on your device when you are prompted as show below:
