And the iPhone Dev Team has finally released the much awaited untethered jailbreak tool Redsn0w 0.9.6RC9  for all iOS devices running iOS 4.3.1.

The device which is not currently supported by Redsn0w is the iPad 2. Otherwise, rest of the devices are supported, including the iPhone 4, 3GS, all iPod touches, and the original iPad. In case if you’re wondering what an untethered jailbreak is, well, unlike a tethered or a semi-tethered jailbreak in which the devices has to be booted into the jailbroken stage when the device loses power or restarts, an untethered jailbreak maintains the jailbroken state no matter what happens apart from being run over by a car. Head over to RedmondPie and they have posted a very detailed step by step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 using Redsn0w 0.9.6RC9 on Windows and Mac both.
