Microsoft Wants Geohot To Give Windows Phone 7 A Shot?
George Hotz AKA Geohot, the man behind the famous jailbreaks like Limera1n just got an unexpected offer from Microsoft on Twitter to give Windows Phone 7 a shot. Does this mean that homebrew apps have a future on WP7?
The director of Windows Phone 7 tweeted lately on Twitter:
#geohot if you want to build cool stuff on #wp7, send me email and the team will give you a phone – let dev creativity flourish #wp7dev
The above tweet strongly hints towards the fact that Microsoft wants Geohot to give Windows Phone 7 a shot in terms of development. What type of development is it? Homebrew? Jailbreaking? Hacks? We don’t know. But one thing’s for sure over here, if you’re Geohot, you get a free phone from Microsoft. The biggest question of all is; Why is Microsoft so open about it? [via Neowin]
