OS X Lion Gold Master Candidate Now Available For Download [Developers Only]
Great news! the gold master (GM) candidate of OS X Lion has finally been seeded to developers around the globe, strongly hinting at a possible launch in the coming days.

OS X Lion is a big upgrade over Mac OS X Snow Leopard, an update so big that it removed the need of the word “Mac”, literally. OS X Lion brings in more than 200 new features over the former version. Multitouch gestures are built right into OS X Lion’s core! Therefore it’s a very highlighting feature in Lion. LaunchPad, Mission Control, AirDrop are a few features which makes Lion stand out from other OS’s around the globe. It’s a very groundbreaking release in terms of features and functionality. Originally announced back in 2010 in Fall at Apple’s Back to the Mac press event, and officially demoed at WWDC 2011, OS X Lion was rumored to be available sometime in July, and following today’s availability of OS X Lion’s gold master candidate, it’s a no brainer to think that OS X Lion’s final build will hit the Mac App Store in the coming days, in mid-July if we’re not wrong.
OS X Lion will be a total 4GB download from the Mac App Store and will cost only $29. Keep in mind that OS X Lion won’t be available in the form of a disc, so you have to get it from the Mac App Store no matter what! Also keep in mind that in order to download OS X Lion from the Mac App Store, you need to download Mac OS X 10.6.8 for your Mac, which you can do so from here.
Where to download the OS X Lion gold master candidate? From Apple’s Mac Developer website, to which you can have access to only if you’re a developer.
Gold master candidates are more like release candidate builds which end up as the final release, they might have one or two bugs which are ironed out later on, but usually, GM builds are compiled in a way that they end up as the final release, if not, then we will highly likely see a second GM build of OS X Lion before the final release.
