Rumor: Apple To Unveil Next-Gen iPhone on June 22
While rumors were flying around for two weeks that Apple is going to develop a new handset dubbed as iPhone HD, Engadget also tipped that the iPhone will be launched on June 22nd, that has to be a Tuesday, naturally.
Today, Gizmodo posted that the fourth generation of the iPhone will be announced sometime this June, probably on June 22, according to a date booked at Yerba Buena Center San Francisco. The news got further credence as for this particular occasion, Apple has once again reserved the very conference center where it announced the three previous versions of the iPhone. All signs and indicators point towards June 22.
The Yerba Buena Center for Arts is located by the Moscone Center in San Francisco, where Apple chose to unveil its previous three iPhones at WWDC. It’s therefore very likely that the June 22nd booking at the YBCA, under the name of Apple, must have been earmarked for the keynote. The 22nd, however, is pretty late in the month as compared to last year’s 8th, and the year before that, for the iPhone 3G, was the 9th.
While no concrete evidence till date has come up to suggest that the announcement of next generation iPhone at the June 22nd event, we probably won’t come know for sure until the evening of June 21st. [Via Gizmodo]
