Steve Jobs Outraged Over MobileMe At Its Launch
MobileMe, which is Apple’s cloud based service for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad which allows users to access and manage all your Email, contacts, calendar, photos and files from the web. It seems to be doing quite well at the moment, but what about the time when it was launched back in 2008? And what happened inside Apple? Steve Jobs’ reaction? All this has been uncovered by Business Insider via Fortune.

It goes something like this, Steve Jobs invites the whole team who worked on MobileMe, or lets just say; who gave birth to MobileMe. They set up a meeting in an auditorium inside Apple’s campus in Cupertino, Steve Jobs comes up and asks the MobileMe team what is MobileMe supposed to do? They all explain, and Steve’s infuriated reply back to the team was; “So why the f— doesn’t it do that?”, he further added; “So why the f— doesn’t it do that?” and also said; “You should hate each other for having let each other down… Mossberg, our friend, is no longer writing good things about us.”
What happened to the original MobileMe team? Well, they got kicked out. But slowly and gradually MobileMe matured to be a very unique and intuitive service in my opinion, although the idea is not new, but the implementation is what really matters, just like how FaceTime redefined video calling.
Its also being rumored that MobileMe will go free sometime this year, although the rumored dates were hinting towards April but seems like WWDC ‘11 is the event which we should look forward to instead for any such announcements. [via AppleInsider]
