Unlock For iPhone 4 on iOS 4.0.1 with Ultrasn0w Released
In our yesterday’s post, we intimated that iPhone Dev Team member Planetbeing had announced on Twitter that the unlock is just around the corner. The iPhone Dev-Team Members MuscleNerd and Planetbeing further confirmed that the unlock for iPhone 4 with ultrasnOw was ready and they will be do thorough testing in the next 48 hours to make sure everything works well before unlock is released to public.
A few hours ago, we also informed readers via Redmond Pie that intimated through a tweeter received about a possible leaked screenshot of Ultrasn0w 1.0-1 that will unlock all iPhones including iPhone 4 on the latest baseband on iOS 4.0.1 / 4.0. This version of Ultrasn0w was not available then.

Finally, the wait is over and Unlock has been released. Now you can break off from that single carrier and can use your iPhone 4 anywhere in the world with any SIM of your choice and not of Apple’s. The iPhone Dev-Team has released the carrier unlocking tool called Ultrasn0w for US based iPhone 4 users who are stuck with AT&T network. Carrier unlocking for US iPhone 4s required complete rewrite of ultrasn0w software because of the new baseband OS present in iPhone 4.Apple, for a change, this time is selling unlocked iPhone 4s internationally, so it will be only the United States users who are still locked on AT&T network. So if you want to use your new iPhone 4 on networks other than AT&T, you may use this newly released Ultrasn0w 1.0 software to unlock your phone.

I can’t wait until they develop a jailbreak for 4.0.2 just to rub it in Apple’s face. They can’t keep us down.
